Is it time for a new website?

When you started your business, I’ll bet you didn’t think you would have to wear as many hats as you currently do. Dang it this can be challenging sometimes right?

A prime example of this, designing and managing your own website! You aren’t a web designer amiright? But I totally get it, how the heck do you find someone who is the right fit for you? And more importantly, how do you know when it’s the right time to dive into a redesign?

I believe that you can never feel amazing about making a large purchase in your business without having a great understanding of why you need the thing you are spending money on. That is why we are so education-centric here at Oakes Creative House.

Here are a few reasons why it might be time for a new website or why you might be avoiding diving in right now:

We’ve all been there! Yes, even me – a web designer! But your website is the online face of your company and if you are currently embarrassed to have it represent you, it may be time…

While there is not a set rule regarding this, technology changes so rapidly now. Even Apple computers are considered vintage at 5-7 years of age. You heard me – VINTAGE! But I don’t see this as a bad thing. Changing tech gives us new features and options that we didn’t have just a few years ago. If your site is more than 5 years old, it may be time…

According to Statistica, in the first quarter of 2020, mobile devices (excluding tablets) generated 51.92 percent of global website traffic, consistently hovering around the 50 percent mark since the beginning of 2017. Also, Google is now basing its rankings on the mobile rather than the desktop version of a website. You could really be hurting your chances of being seen online if your site is not mobile responsive. Jump onto your site from your phone and make sure everything looks good. If you find it is not mobile friendly, it may be time…

Usually when clients come to me super frustrated because it takes so long to make minor changes to their website, I know something is up. With today’s options for drag and drop editors and user friendly interfaces this should no longer be an option for your site. This is why we also offer ongoing training options to teach you how to use your website and we can at any time upload how-to videos to your website dashboard to show you how to do the small things! If you are stuck when it comes to making changes and updates to your site, it may be time….

A great website today is about so much more than just giving out information. Your website should also be designed to take in information from potential clients/customers too. This should be a place where you give them value in exchange for contact information. This should be where you prove to them why your company is in alignment with what they are looking for. If you are currently getting 0 leads from your website – something is wrong, and it may be time…

Don’t worry friend, we are all about transparency here! We offer multiple options for websites at different price ranges starting at just $1800. If you are avoiding the conversation because you might have to hold off until you can afford it, please don’t! Everyone goes through phases of business and that means more or less cash flow at different times. I always welcome a conversation whether you are ready to dive in right now or if you are simply gathering pricing information to get an idea of when a website redesign might be possible for you. If you aren’t even sure if it is time or not, why not take the time to find out?

If you are experiencing one, two or a few of these issues, it may be time for a new website!

Discovery calls are always free here at Oakes Creative House. I would love to chat with you and determine if a new website is a good fit for you or not. If in this conversation we determine that your site just needs a few fixes or that maybe training is the route to go – I will never try to sell you something you don’t need. Trust me, it’s just not my style!

xoxo,
Crystal

Website Audit Freebie

When was the last time you sat down and reviewed your website? When I do my website audits for clients, there are four main areas I focus.

1 – Does it know what to say?
2 – Is it functional and easy to navigate?
3 – Does it represent your organization’s aesthetic?
4 – Is it meeting sales quota?

I broke each of these areas down into checklists you can go through. Hit one section per quarter and you should always have an effective and up-to-date website on your hands! Grab yours here!
